About Provisional Camp
Come to camp by yourself or with your friends. No adults required!
Scouts who have found that their units are not signed up for camp, cannot attend with their Troop, or want to attend a second week are eligible to attend Camp Marriott as a Provisional camper. The Scouts are grouped together in a Provisional Troop and have the opportunity to experience all the activities that Camp Marriott has to offer. Leadership is provided by the camp and is a combination of trained adults and youth camp staff members whose main purpose is to ensure a safe, exciting, and fun week at camp.

How it Works
As a provisional camper, you’ll be matched and placed with an attending unit. If there are enough other provisional campers, a provisional unit will be made. Provisional units are comprised of provisional campers with staff members and adult volunteers.
Campers from the same home Troops and Crews will be grouped together.
At Camp Marriott, campers will dine in the Heater Stack method. Campers should bring their own personal mess kits.
We are Family Scouting Friendly. Boys and girls are welcome.
All Scouts and Venturers are welcome. There is no minimum age requirement for Provisional Camp, as long as you are registered with a Troop or Crew!

Meet Your 2023 Marriott Camp Director

Joe Costner
Joe first camped at Goshen at Camp Olmsted in 2009 and 2010 before camping at Beautiful Camp Marriott in 2011. He loved Goshen so much he decided to work there, working at Camp PMI for seven years in a variety of roles including Scoutcraft Instructor, Scoutcraft Director, BB Gun Director, Facilities Director, and Program Director. When the opportunity arose to return to Goshen last summer, he jumped at the chance to be the Facilities Director at Beautiful Camp Marriott. Heading into his 9th summer on Goshen staff and first as Camp Director, Joe is looking forward to improving Marriott’s program and making the camp experience as great as possible.

How to Sign Up When the Week is Full

Wildlife
There is a wide variety of wildlife at Goshen Scout Reservation. We've got many different species of reptiles and amphibians. There are also a number of birds, from your regular sparrows to turkeys, hawks, and eagles. We have what we call mini-bears (skunks, foxes, raccoons, etc.) and actual black bears.
Both to ensure our safety and to preserve the wonder of our bit of wilderness, it is important to understand how to interact with the wildlife around us.
No Food in Tents
Store food in a manner approved for your camp. Remember to take trash to the dumpster each night.

What to Do When You See Wildlife
Report to Camp Staff at the Admin building if you see a bear or any injured wildlife, or if there is any wildlife interfering or otherwise negatively impacting your stay. See any cool wildlife? Let the Nature staff know. If you can, take a picture of it and share it with us on Facebook or Instagram when you get home!
